Old pipes can lead to new problems. Many older plumbing systems were constructed with galvanized (zinc-coated) pipes or copper pipes, which are unfortunately prone to corrosion. Corroded pipes are notorious for decreased water pressure, leaks, and even burst pipes. Ingesting water from corroded pipes can even cause health risks by metal or lead leaching into the water. Newer systems are now utilizing corrosion-resistant PVC (polyvinyl chloride pipes), which have many advantages, such as chemical and corrosion resistance and overall longer service lifespan.
Plumbing Experts recently responded to a hotel in Boynton Beach with a leakage problem. Water was pouring out from inside the wall, and our technician on site found that the waste arm was broken and needed repair. As it turned out, the pipe was old and corroded, with several cracks, so we removed it and replaced it for a new PVC pipe.
