A common question we get at Plumbing Experts…should I use Drain Cleaners to clear a clogged drain?  Marketed as an inexpensive quick-fix for pipe problems, drain cleaners, such as Drano, are comprised of many harsh chemicals meant to quickly decompose elements causing blocked pipes.  As you can imagine, this chemical reaction process is harsh on your pipes and can be very damaging, which is why Plumbing Experts advises against chemical drain cleaners.

Plumbing Experts was recently called due to a residence in Boca Raton, Florida where drain cleaner that contained acid was used in a bathtub.  As it turned out, the acid destroyed the tub drain, so our Plumber removed the damaged drain, cleared out the pipes, and installed a brand-new drain.
